Sprinkled throughout the book are Notes for Nancy, which are tips and timesaving hints. heartwarming excerpts from viewers sharing their volunteer experiences are featured on nearly every page.
The inspiration for "Creative Kindness" came when Zieman ran the Sew a smile series on her TV show, "Sewing With Nancy®." The series demonstrated the many ways viewers could use their talents to make a big difference to those in need. Zieman writes, " To our amazement, requests for more information ran over four times higher than any previous series in 'Sewing With Nancy's®.' 18 year history." An accompanying website offers contact information for dozens of charity organizations, including those listed in the book: www.creativekindness.com
Zieman is a national sewing authority, businesswoman, author, pattern designer and home economist, as well as the executive producer and host of the popular PBS television show, "Sewing With Nancy®." This is her 18th book. Brown has 14 books and hundreds of articles to her credit and ranks as one of the most widely read sewing journalists. She is also often seen on "Sewing With Nancy®", Nancy's Notions Limited videos, "Sew Perfect" and has taped segments for "Our Home."
