Jan Bones teaches in many areas
of pattern design, garment construction and fitting at the
University of Manitoba. Outside the University, she teaches
seminars and hands-on workshops in Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton,
Vancouver, Victoria and Toronto. Jan has designed a pattern line
called "Lingerie Secrets," has authored two books and
has produced a sewing video called "Perfect Pockets."
Reviews of Jans work have appeared in Vogue Patterns magazine, The Creative Machine and the Western Producer newspaper. She has been a contributing author to a collection of stories about Women Artists in Manitoba. Threads magazine will also be publishing articles by Jan beginning in the April/May 1998 issue.
Jan has designed toys and has done production problem-solving for a toy manufacturer. She has created ballroom and highland dancing costumes for competition, costumes for theatre and a wide range of outerwear designs for winter sports.
