Silhouette Hint for Spring & Summer sewing:
Bring your top hem edges up, up, up - cropping their length this season. Consider that covering your widest part (whether that be your tummy or your behind) just might NOT be your most flattering length….. Why???....
Because cutting yourself in half is not flattering. Unless you are blessed with endlessly long legs, a jacket covering your behind will cut you in half. Look in the mirror and see now that your legs seem longer. You are 1/3 on the top and 2/3 on the bottom - a much more flattering proportion! It's kind of like putting 1 or 3 flowers in a vase rather than 2…..get the idea?
Go one step further: match the value of your lower half to your legs and shoes. Wear jackets open, and carry your bottom half color up into the shirt or top underneath your jacket for a slimming column of color. Try it...you'll like it!
