I pieced 4 of these squares as illustrated, sections 1-6, leaving 7 blank. When I joined the 4 squares together, the center was an open hole. Into this hole, I appliquéd a 4" (Cut it 4-1/2".) square, highlighting a favorite piece of fabric.
