Cool & Classy Vest

This is your chance to have fun and experiment as you create a sensational vest. Use your favorite vest pattern and cut the embellishments shapes from coordinating fabrics. This is a great project to try out some of your favorite, smaller embroidery motifs or decorative stitches. Add flags made from stripe fabric, then finish the design with colorful buttons from your stash. Why not do it all in red, white and blue for a perfect July 4th vest? or glitz it up for Christmas.

Stitch down 1/2" fabric tubes, then appliqué the fun fabric shapes. Finish the outside vest edges with binding, or line it to the edge. You also might want to appliqué a few decorative squares to the vest back.
