Cutting Instructions:
Fabric - 2 rectangles 8" x 18"
Organza - 2 B
Batting - 3 strips 2-1/2" x 45"
Padding the hanger cover:
Starting at one end of
hanger, wrap batting around several times, and continue wrapping strip to
center. Repeat for second end. Wind last strip over previous strips to fill in
evenly.

Starting at one end of wrapped hanger and using heavy duty thread, secure batting with several stitches. Wrap remaining thread in a spiral towards the center. Continue in same manner at opposite end. Spiral and crisscross using additional thread, and tack as needed to firmly secure batting.
Starting at base of hanger hook, spiral wrap 3/8" or 5/8" ribbon tightly to top, and continue wrapping back to hook base. Secure ribbon with several stitches.
Making the hanger cover:
With right sides together, fold each hanger cover piece lengthwise. Referring to pattern, sew curved end and long edge of each piece (see diagram 2). Trim and clip seam. Do not turn.
Apply 1/4" elastic with foot parallel to seam, starting 1/2" from curved edge and stopping 2" from end, using tight tension on elastic guide (see Elastic Wizard instructions). Trim excess elastic. Turn
Fill curved end with small handful polyester stuffing, pushing into curve firmly.
With elastic on the bottom, slide cover pieces over hanger and batting. Fold under raw edges at center and slipstitch together (see diagram 3).
Starting at one end, distribute fabric and gathers evenly, securing to batting with hand stitches to keep in place.
