If you have a computerized sewing machine be careful to make sure your machine is off and unplugged when thunderstorms approach. Last night during quilting class we had a big storm with power surges. I had instructed them to turn off their machines but by that time it was too late. One of the computerized machines belonging to a student did not come back on. Since the machine did not smoke, our local sewing machine repairman thinks it might be just a fuse and not the circuit board. I good investment for your computerized sewing machine at home is an uninterrupted power supply.
