Weather or Not is one of the few  companies that carries Solarweave® fabrics as yardage for the home sewers and  at the best prices! All fabrics that they carry are Sun Protective.

Solarweave® is a new sun protective fabric!! This fabric protects skin from up to 97% of the suns harmful UVA and UVB rays. Solarweave® is a treated fabric that is the only sun protective fabric that has passed independent laboratory testing and has been approved by the FDA.  

These  fabrics have passed rigorous testing when the fabric is new, dry,  wet from perspiration or water and  laundered.  It was tested for abrasion from normal use, extended exposure to UVB and UVA rays, skin irritation and a stretch test -- to see if the fabrics stretch so much that they lose their protective capabilities.  NASA chose Solarweave® fabric to make play suits for kids with extreme allergies to UV light.

 Solarweave® fabrics come in 100% cotton and cotton blends!
Other companies  sell clothing made from fabric that is sun protective in itself. None of them sell cotton, which is only 30% - 50% sun protective. This fabric is sun protective because it is treated, and the treatment can make any type of fabric sun protective! Thus the customer can now buy sun protected cottons and cotton blends. This is a real benefit for folks who like to wear natural fabrics and need sun protection as well.

 The sunprotective fabrics  that we carry come in wovens and knits in 100% cotton, 100% Supplex® and blends of cotton, Supplex® Lycra® and Coolmax®.  All of the fabrics are sun protective except for the mesh. Most fabrics are 60"- 62" wide with prices starting at $7.99 per yard. Colors are varied with lots of naturals.
